Synopsis:“South Carolinians in World War II: Liberation” is the fourth episode of the series that weaves first person accounts of South Carolina veterans during World War II. This episode follows our veterans past the Battle of the Bulge and through the Siegfried Line as they battle their way into Germany to discover the horror of concentration camps. Combining first person accounts of the holocaust survivors and veterans, a distinct picture is drawn of the inhumanity that the Nazi command structure forced upon those they deemed undesirable. The stories are graphic and heartbreaking but tell a vivid story of heroism and the will to survive when surrounded by the horrors of war.
